FujiXerox Iridesse Installation
FujiXerox iGen digital printing press is decommissioned and FUJI Iridesse digital printing press is installed allowing for the use of thicker substrates and a wider range of digital embellishments such a clear varnish, white toner, metallic and neon inks
ESKOXN24 Kongsberg Cutting Table Arrives
With an impressive 3kw engine, the Kongsberg cutting table allows Kale Print to produce custom designs from a multitude of substrates up to 25mm thick for signage, cut lettering, packaging, point of sale displays, engraving, and vinyl graphics with a much faster turn-around time, and more cost effectively than ever before without the need for expensive dies and setup costs

Graphtec FMark Router cutter
With the ability to cut custom shapes into SRA3 paper and label stock, the addition of the Graphtec offers more flexibility and cost savings for customers with small run labels or custom designed cards and brochures
Hybrid UV Offset Printing Press
Kale Print becomes home to one of the first Hybrid UV printing presses in New Zealand
Wide Format Department Opens
To compliment the growing need to large format print, the Wide format department commences operation and soon progresses to producing various forms of signage
Cypress Street Facility Opens
Our Cypress Street facility opens to accomodate the larger finishing equipment and increased production workload
CTP Installed
The existing Varityper using film for plate production was unable to keep up with workflow capacity and a new Computer to Plate machine, using UV laser technology, the first of it's kind in New Zealand, was installed on the first floor in a climate controlled environment, able to produce plates for the presses in a fraction of the time it takes traditional film to plate production
Digital Printing department set up
Opened to the public in July to offer high quality print at reduced costs for smaller runs
Building extensions
To accomodate the growing plant equipment and staff, and additional 175m2 was added to the Cameron Road facility
Art Studio moved to first floor
Artists and Mac Operators move into a new area set up on the first floor for increased workflow and productivity
Komori Lithrone 20 - 5 Colour Press
Fully automated to increase output times significantly
Heidelberg Speedmaster 2 Colour
The 2 colour machine was added to the factory to help keep up with the increasing work load
McCain Stitcher & Trimmer
The addition of a collating and finishing machine was required for Magazine production
Komori Lithrone 50 - 5 Colour Press
The addition of the 5 colour press allowed Kale Print to increase capacity to 40" sheets and 16 pages to enter the magazine market
Komori Sprint
The 4 colour Komori Sprint was added to complement the existing presses and keep up with production demands

Kale Print & Design Associates Limited is incorporated and solely owned by Stephen & Jill Kale
Kale Print Established
Kale Print was established in 1986 by husband and wife team Stephen & Jill Kale
First Printing Press Purchased
In 1985 the first printer was purchased, a Heidelberg Kora 1 colour and a printer was added to the staff
Design Com
Stephen Kale and two other partners commenced operation as Design Com, operating as a print broker
